- Communicate OHS information for co-workers in team.
- Accurately and clearly explain to the work group basic OHS rights, responsibilities and requirements.
- Provide, in a readily accessible manner, information on the relevant organisation OHS policies, procedures and programs, and accurately and clearly explain them to the work group.
- Regularly provide relevant information about identified hazards and the outcomes of risk assessment and risk control procedures, and accurately and clearly explain them to the work group.
- Coach co-workers in team.
- Facilitate the consultative process.
- Deal with, and promptly resolve, issues raised through consultation or refer to the appropriate personnel for resolution in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Seek input from work group on OHS issues and proposed changes to process, procedures or work place.
- Encourage and use feedback from individuals and teams to identify and implement improvements in the management of OHS.
- Promptly inform the work group of the outcomes of consultation over OHS issues.
- Implement and monitor organisation procedures for identifying hazards, and assessing and controlling risk.
- Implement and monitor adherence to work procedures to identify hazards and assess and control risk.
- Monitor existing risk control measures and report results regularly.
- Access internal and external sources of relevant OHS information.
- Evaluate and identify inadequacies in existing risk control measures in accordance with the hierarchy of control, and report to designated personnel.
- Identify inadequacies in resource allocation for implementation of risk control measures and report to designated personnel.
- Identify actual/potential inadequacies in procedures and report to designated personnel.
- Identify actual/potential inadequacies in individual or team competency and report to designated personnel.
- Maintain and use OHS records.
- Accurately and legibly complete OHS records for work area, in accordance with workplace requirements for OHS records and legal requirements for the maintenance of records of occupational injury and disease.
- Use aggregated information from the area OHS records to identify hazards and monitor risk control procedures within work area according to procedures and within scope of responsibilities and competencies.
